Writing, for me, is a way of thinking and staying in relationship with the world: a sustained practice of attention. I write at the meeting point of thought and feeling, often drawn to questions I cannot answer and to truths that resist alignment. My process is shaped by the tension between my inner life, long-term study, and political commitments—between the private voice that resists visibility and the urge to speak openly and relationally.
My public voice moves through politics, grief, poetry, history, memory, and imagination. My pieces and talks often emerge from lived tension and grounded reflection. The kind of expression I feel most drawn to is experimental—guided by metaphor not just as image but as method. Metaphor offers a way to organize complexity without imposing rigidity. It allows thought to move while still holding shape, giving contradiction, imagination, and precision a space to coexist.
